The Governor of Eastern Equatoria State, Louis Lobong Lojore, has relieved the commissioners of Kapoeta South, Magwi, and Torit counties of their duties.
The State Minister of Information and Communication, Elia John Ahaji, confirmed the reshuffle in an interview, putting to rest rumors that had been circulating on social media. He clarified that the changes were official and that new caretaker commissioners have already been appointed.
“It was not a rumor. It is true; the three commissioners have been relieved, and new caretaker commissioners have been appointed to take over,” Ahaji said.
While the Minister did not disclose specific reasons for the dismissals, he described the move as a standard administrative procedure aimed at improving state governance.
“This is a normal government procedure. When changes occur, it is simply part of the routine work of the administration. It does not necessarily mean the former commissioners committed any wrongdoing,” he explained.
According to the Minister, the leadership changes are as follows, Kapoeta south county out going commissioner Paul locale, in Magwi county Pole-Pole Benjamin Olum and in Torit Christopher Andrew while the He also repoint their replaces Jeff Longoria as the new commissioner of Kapoeta South, Lam Francis (Lam Banki) for Magwi County and appointed Lokuang Charles as Torit Commissioner
The newly appointed officials officially assumed their roles on Tuesday morning following a formal swearing-in ceremony.
“They have already taken their oaths of office this morning. We are just returning from the ceremony, and they have fully assumed their responsibilities,” Minister Ahaji noted.
Efforts to reach the outgoing commissioners for comment were unsuccessful at the time of publication. This reshuffle is reportedly part of a broader strategy by Governor Lobong to strengthen leadership and enhance operational efficiency across Eastern Equatoria State.
