The Central Equatoria State government has inaugurated a newly constructed state ministry of Animal resources, fisheries and Tourism and veterinary clinic.
Speaking during the ceremony yesterday, Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony emphasized that the project, which we embarked on two years ago, through a model of public-private partnership.
“When I laid the foundation stone for this construction, I expressed hope that this project would reach fruition and not just remain a distant aspiration. Today signifies a momentous occasion with the inauguration of the building of the Ministry of Animal Resources, fisheries and tourism, under the Lieutenant-Leader” he highlighted.
Adil underscored that the new headquarter was set to cultivate a productive work atmosphere, stating he eagerly anticipate weakness in the tangible results that would strengthen the state’s tourism sector, enhance the value of our livestock, and liberty of our resources, and develop sound policies to promote our fisheries.
He urged other institution to take the construction as an inspiration from the Ministry of Animal Resources, and embrace innovation, and launch similar initiatives within their organizations.
“I want to really speak this to the rest of my colleagues. When we started this project, with a partnership with brothers from the private sector, and I told the Minister, Alex, I said, I don’t want to lay a foundation for which we will not conclude and remain a foundation stone” he said
On his part, Paulino Lukudu Obede Deputy Governor emphasized that this was an important, great step towards the transformation of the institutions of Central Equatoria state government.
“What we are doing here today falls under the strategic direction and the pillars of your government, which is the pillar number three of economic recovery and the service delivery” he said.
He highlighted that the state was not only celebrating the inauguration, they were working and operating a government in the time of the digitalization, globalization, civilization.
Lukudu stressed that in this civilized society or the digital era, the government officials or the public officials has to apply two very important principles of service delivery.
He noted one of the principles is innovation and creativity and also public relation, stating that without innovation and creativity, he was optimistic that the state would not be inaugurate the building.
“This is because the Minister and his supporting staff are innovative and transformative in the agendas of service delivery we are here today and the good public relation that we have seen so many companies assisting these institutions to achieve this simply because the Minister and the supporting staff are good in public relation” Lukudu explained.
He stated that as the offices was opened yesterday, it will not only serve as a modern facility for government operations, but it will also serve as a symbol of service delivery.
He said rich government is not about the resources, but it is about the richness of the ideas and ideologies to serve.
According to Lukudu, the supporting staff would work hand in hand with all the institutions that require your cooperation, urging for a change in the welfare of this supporting staff.
He underscored the veterinary clinic would address the concerns of animal health in Central Equatoria and other states within the country.
“Our head of cattle are more than our civilian population. And our animals are not properly treated. You will have to address the issue of the animal sickness, especially in the cattle camps, to implement a policy of zero grazing and using the livestock for commercialization, not for prestige” he said.
“We have also an issue of fish in our rivers. The research found out that our fish are dying because of the old age. We are not making use of our fish” Lukudu added.
