South Sudan in Global ties, as Kiir receives ambassadors

South Sudan is stepping up efforts to strengthen its global partnerships, deepening diplomatic, economic, and security cooperation with regional and international allies.

Through renewed engagements with neighboring countries, international organizations, and development partners, the government aims to boost trade, attract investment, and reinforce peace and stability as the nation continues its post-conflict recovery.

According to a statement issued by the presidential press unit, this comes following letters of Credence that has come from the newly accredited Ambassadors received by President Salva Kiir Mayardit, reflecting South Sudan’s growing global relations on Friday.

“The Ambassadors are from France, Germany, the European Union, the African Union, Ethiopia, Egypt, and the Russian Federation, all working to establish their presence in Juba” the statement read.

‎During the ceremony, the President welcomed the envoys reiterating government’s commitment to enhancing and deepening diplomatic relations and cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.

‎The ambassadors, pledged to continue supporting South Sudan’s drive towards peace, stability, investment, and democracy throughout the entire period of their work in the country.

‎The presentation marked the official start of a tour of duty of the seven ambassadors, suggesting South Sudan’s growing engagement with foreign nations, regional and international organisations.

Strengthening global ties is no longer a choice for South Sudan it is a necessity. As the country seeks lasting peace and economic growth, meaningful international partnerships can help unlock investment, improve governance, and support critical sectors such as health, education, and infrastructure.

As South Sudan’s challenges remains, the country ensures these relationships translate into real benefits for ordinary citizens.
