Yangwara Pojulu Tijor announces first Cultural Festival

Yangwara Pojulu Tijor announced the first cultural festival to display a variety of cultures.

The event that will bring South Sudanese communities together to display their cultures is scheduled for February 2026.

Speaking to the media on Saturday, Emmanuel Ladu Fabio, the chairperson of the organizing committee for the festival, announced the first edition of the Yangwara Pojulu Tijor Cultural Carnival.

“Yangwara Pojulu Tijor Cultural Carnival officially announces its inaugural edition, celebrating our roots, unity, and cultural heritage,” Ladu said.

He announced the first-ever edition of the cultural Carnival scheduled from 14th to 15th February 2026 at Gudelle Block 3 (Shari Arubain).

The organizer expressed that the event will be under the theme “Celebrating Our Roots, Strengthening Unity Through Culture.”

He urged the entire community, cultural enthusiasts, and visitors in the country to prepare and take part in the event.

Ladu highlighted that the Carnival represented a dream made real and a concerted effort to revive, showcase, and preserve the rich tradition passed down by the ancestors.

He expressed that the mission of the Yangwara Pojulu Tijor Cultural Carnival is the unity, heritage, and progress of the community.

“Our mission is unity, heritage, and progress,” Ladu said.

“Our objective is to use culture as a catalyst for social cohesion, fostering peace and togetherness among diverse groups within our community and in our country,” he added.

Salah Rajub Bunduki, the Chairperson of the Yangwara community in Juba, stated that Yangwara Pojulu Tijor is a community within Juba County, Central Equatoria State, with several cultures.

Rajub stated that the Yangwara Pojulu Tijor Community has three payams, Rokon, Tijor, and Dolo payam, in Juba County in CES.

Moreover, the organizing committee showcased the traditional dancing of the Yangwara Pojulu Tijor Community during the conference.

The committee also showcased the dressing code of both men and women, as men wear leather clothes in traditional colours and women wear green clothes in traditional colors and hairstyles.

The community required all the interested public to get his or her dressing code to celebrate the Carnival.

The press conference was attended by CES Minister of Information Nyarsuk Patrick Jame and Salah Rajub Bunduki, the Yangwara Pojulu Tijor Community Chairperson.
