Kiir dispatches officials to Qatar on by-lateral mission

President Salva Kiir Mayardit has dispatched a high-ranking team of government officials to the State of Qatar to convey a message to the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani.

According to the statement from Presidential press Unit, the delegation’s mission is to enhance relations between Juba and Doha.

Base on the statement, the team is led by Presidential Security Advisor, Tut Gatluak Manime.

Other members on the mission included representatives from the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Petroleum, Ministry of Transport and other concerned departments of the government.

The statement from presidential press unit revealed that team were directed by the President to strengthen relations with Qatari.

‎”Tut highlighted that they are traveling with clear directives from the President to engage the Qatari officials on the issues of mutual concern and interest” the statement partly read.

According to the statement, Tut asserted that the deliberations will focus on ways to advance areas of cooperation in some of the most critical sectors.
