ISRAAID donates food, non-food items to Juba IDPs

ISRAAID through the government of Isreal has distributed emergency humanitarian aid, including food and non-food items, to the IDPs and vulnerable host communities in Juba III POC.

This contribution aims to supporting vulnerable communities and collaborate with local communities to promote environments where the right to life, dignity, and survival is upheld.

Speaking during the ceremony yesterday, Lydia Layaa, ISRAAID’s programme Manager said that her organization had stood firm with the country’s government to in delivering integrated protection, health wash and nutrition programming in some part of the country.

“For the last fifteen years, IsraaAid South Sudan has stood shoulder to shoulder with the government of South Sudan delivering integrated protection, wash and nutrition programme across Central Equatoria, Western Equatoria state and Upper Nile including very strategic intervention in Renk County” she said.

She added that their unwavering partnership with government authorities has amplified their reach, aligned efforts with national priorities and fortified community resilient together.

Layaa added that the day marked a very powerful testimony to the collaboration with the government.

 

“MASHAV has generously provided emergency aid life sustaining food ratio and essential non-food item to most vulnerable people especially the displace and host community in South Sudan” she said.

 

She further added that the timely intervention resource dignity prevents malnutrition and strengthens health and wash access at critical juncture.

 

Layaa underscored that the donation from MASHAV, the Isreal Agency for international Corporation arrives at a precise moment amidst soaring inflation, dwelling humanitarian funding and escalating community needs.

On his part, Makul Gatluak, who is the Camp chairperson appreciated the contribution made by Israel to South Sudan, stating that the donation would help the vulnerable communities affected by the situation today.

“Today is a blessed day. We really appreciate Isreal for what you have contributed, helping these vulnerable affected peoples, vulnerable mothers who are always suffering, and the children who are suffering from acute malnutrition, we really recognize your contributions and we feel pleased for that” he said.

He highlighted that Israel and South Sudan are the same people as they has shown through their contribution to the IDPs.

“I thank the community who are patient for all these days. Thank you for the Israel Aid who has contributed this emergency food assistance to our vulnerable people who are affected” he stated.

Meanwhile, Nyanthik Chol stated that there is numerous humanitarian which are there but vulnerable children, women and girls are still have some conditions affecting them at the IDP camps.

“I am very much happy with the support from ISRAID and I would like this support to reach out to all the IDPs. This is because all of them in camps one to three are having the same conditions” she said.
