The Governor of Central Equatoria State Emmanuel Adil has urged the state party to consult with each other when making party decisions, emphasizing that inclusive dialogue within parties is essential for unity and stability.
Speaking during an expanded party meeting in Juba, Governor Adil called on SPLM members to strengthen internal dialogue and collective decision-making in order to maintain unity within the party and effectively serve the people of the state.
“We must prioritize the SPLM structures from the national level to the state, county, payam and boma levels so that the party function effectively in accordance with the party constitutions” Adil said
He emphasized that consultations among party members are essential to avoid misunderstandings and ensure that decisions reflect the views of the broader party leadership and grassroots supporters
“Party members must uphold the spirit of consultation and collective responsibility. Decisions that affect the party and the people should involve the views of members at different levels,” governor Adil said.
According to the governor, consultation within party structures not only strengthens internal democracy but also builds trust among members and supporters.
He added that when leaders engage party members in decision-making, it promotes transparency and accountability.
“Every member must feel their voices matter at heart within the SPLM structures, decisions must be taken through consultations” Adil said
Adil said that consultation and cooperation among party structures would help the SPLM remain strong and prepared for future political processes in the country.
He urged party leaders at state, county, and grassroots levels to work together and respect party procedures when making key decisions.
“SPLM leadership within the SPLM must always reflect the values of sacrifice, integrity and accountability. And we are called to lead by example as leaders because we are leaders up to our grassroots level. And leadership is not about positions or titles, it is responsibility” He stated.
The governor also stressed that unity within the party is critical for delivering development and good governance to the people of Central Equatoria.
He encouraged members to focus on strengthening the party’s structures and promoting peaceful political engagement across the state.
“Therefore, all of us here must nurture our young generations also, especially the youth, both women and our young people, who will continue with our mission. And unity is paramount and is essential because when we are united as leaders, the party becomes strong and effective. Decision and party ethics, comrades” Adil stated.
Party officials say continued dialogue and consultation among members will help the SPLM part maintain cohesion and effectively address political and governance challenges facing the state and the country.
