The Office of the Governor of Eastern Equatoria State has dismissed as false and misleading social media claims alleging that Governor Gen. Louis Lobong Lojore made derogatory remarks against Hon. Gen. Isaac Mamur Mette during a recent SPLM summit.
In a public statement issued on Tuesday, the Governor’s Office said Gen. Lobong never made the alleged statement and did not mention Gen. Isaac Mamur at any point during his presentation at the summit.
According to the statement, the governor’s remarks focused exclusively on the need for equitable representation of Eastern Equatoria State within the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) and the National Executive.
The statement explained that the governor highlighted the state’s current representation by only two members in the SPLM Political Bureau and noted that his ministerial portfolio is not a service-delivery ministry. It added that his appeal was for fair and balanced representation of the state in national institutions.
“The circulated statement is a deliberate fabrication by the enemies of peace intended to mislead the public, create division among our great leaders, and undermine the unity, peace, and progress of our people,” the statement read.
The Governor’s Office urged the public to disregard what it described as false propaganda, refrain from sharing unverified information, and rely only on official sources for accurate communication.
It further reaffirmed that Governor Lobong maintains cordial and respectful relations with Hon. Gen. Isaac Mamur Mette and remains committed to promoting unity, peace, and equitable representation for Eastern Equatoria State and the Republic of South Sudan.
The statement was signed by the Acting Executive Director in the Office of the Governor, Siro Silvio Ewak, and dated July 7, 2026.
