The chief administrator of the Imehejek Administrative Area, Mathew Oromo Mouris, has outlined peace, security, and development as key priorities as he assumes office.
Oromo says restoring peace and stability will create an environment for development and improved livelihoods across the area.
He called on chiefs, religious leaders, women, youth, and security institutions to work together to promote reconciliation, reject violence, and strengthen unity among Imehejek communities.
The administrator also urged residents to address challenges of hunger, drought, and poverty through joint efforts with government, humanitarian, and development partners.
“My administration will work closely with government, humanitarian, and development partners to improve food security, expand access to clean water, promote climate-smart agriculture, and create sustainable livelihood opportunities for our people,” Oromo said.
He pledged to prioritise education, agriculture, entrepreneurship, and youth and women empowerment while improving roads, schools, healthcare, livelihoods, and other public services.
As the country prepares for the upcoming general elections, Oromo urged residents to participate peacefully and responsibly, respect differing views, and reject violence.
He further appealed to the people of Imehejek to put aside their differences and unite behind a common vision for peace, stability, and development.
“Together with determination and God’s guidance, we can transform Imehejek Administrative Area into a place where every family lives with dignity and every child has hope,” he said.
