The Caretaker Governor of Central Equatoria State, H.E. Augustino Jadalla Kamilo Wani, has pledged to work with all people in the state to promote unity, stability, and development as the country prepares for the December 2026 elections.
Jadalla made the commitment on Thursday during a grand reception held at the State Secretariat General in Juba following his assumption of office as caretaker governor.
In his remarks, Jadalla expressed appreciation to President Salva Kiir Mayardit for entrusting him with the responsibility to lead the state at what he described as a critical period for the country.
He said his administration would work closely with technocrats in various state ministries to ensure continuity in governance and the smooth administration of state affairs following the dissolution of state ministers, advisors, and Members of Parliament.
The Caretaker Governor also called for unity and cooperation among former constitutional post-holders, saying collective efforts are needed to maintain stability and advance development in Central Equatoria.
“I didn’t come to work with groups or certain people; I came to work with everyone and to ensure that the main agenda is unity for development in Central Equatoria State,” Jadalla said.
He further emphasised that his administration would focus on working with all stakeholders as the state moves toward the upcoming elections.
Meanwhile, SPLM Second Deputy Chairperson, Cde. Mary Apayi Ayiga echoed the call for unity and cooperation among politicians in Central Equatoria State.
The immediate former governor of Central Equatoria State, Emmanuel Adil Anthony, also urged the people of the state to support Jadalla during the transition period leading to the elections.
Adil commended President Kiir for what he described as wise leadership in steering the country toward its first democratic elections scheduled for December 2026.
Former government officials who attended the reception welcomed the dissolution of the Transitional Government and expressed support for the caretaker governor, pledging their commitment to a peaceful electoral transition.
