The caretaker governor of Central Equatoria State, Gen. Augustino Jadalla Kamilo Wani, has called for impartiality, assuring security as the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement’s high-level committee conducts its congresses and primaries in the state.

According to the state press unit, the call followed a briefing to the governor by the SPLM High-Level Committee on its mission in the state.

Caretaker Governor Gen. Jadalla elaborated on the cardinal mandate of the caretaker government, which included preparation for elections, uniting the people and stabilising security to enable smooth electoral processes.

“The Caretaker Governor assured the Committee of security across the state, noting that County authorities are on standby to receive them at various levels,” the statement partly read.

He affirmed his administration’s full commitment to cooperate with the team to ensure its mission in the state is fully realised.

The briefing, which was chaired by Asha Abbas Akuei, noted that the team is in the state to supervise and coordinate the work of the SPLM restructuring from Boma, Payam, and County up to the state level as part of ongoing internal party democracy ahead of the general elections.

The Committee stressed the need for cooperation with state authorities, underscoring that security, full cooperation, transparency, and neutrality will guide their engagement. The team said it will work strictly according to its terms of reference.

He also stressed impartiality as a key principle as the team carries out its mandate of structuring the party.

Gen. Jadalla further briefed the delegation on the state’s readiness for the December polls, noting that sensitisation of the masses on the electoral processes is key as the days draw near.
