Yei leaders urge communities to sustain development initiatives

‎Local authorities in Yei River County have called on community development groups to sustain their initiatives and strengthen cooperation with government and development partners to support long-term development.

‎Payam Director of Yei River County Rose Doru Simbe urged community development groups to maintain their activities, saying sustained community initiatives can contribute to improved development and resilience.

‎She encouraged local leaders and community members to remain actively involved in development programs and build on existing initiatives within their communities.

‎Local leaders also commended the government and development partners for working closely with communities to support efforts aimed at strengthening resilience and improving living conditions.

‎Lowuya Morish, a local chief and head of the Boma Development Committee in Gimunu, said the community appreciates the support received from government and partners.

‎He said the assistance has contributed to efforts to strengthen resilience and promote development in the area.

The Executive Director of Yei River County, Hillary Lokudu Muhammed, called for continued cooperation among communities, government institutions, and development partners.

‎‎She said sustained collaboration is important for addressing local development needs and ensuring that community-led initiatives continue to benefit residents.

‎The officials were speaking during a one-day community meeting organised by the Organisation for Agricultural Opportunities (OFAO) in Yei River County to present and seek endorsement of a development document for Boma Development Committees.

‎The meeting brought together local authorities, community representatives, and development partners to discuss priorities and approaches for strengthening community-led development across the county.
