The National Communication Authority (NCA) has officially launch its Strategic Plan for 2025- 2029 at the 10th Ordinary Board of Directors meeting.
It also approved budget for the fiscal year 2025/26 during the meeting held at the Authority’s headquarters in Gumbo over a two-day period concluding on August 1st, 2025.
The session, presided over by Prof. John Akec, the newly launched Strategic Plan outlines the NCA’s vision and mission, focusing on strengthening regulatory frameworks, expanding ICT access, and advancing digital transformation across the country.
The meeting also saw the welcoming four new members into the board including, Gen. Charles Ciec Mayor, Director General of ISB-NSS; Mary James Ajith, Undersecretary of Justice; Arop Nuoi Arop, First Undersecretary of Finance; and Mr. Kur Nyok Deng, Secretary-General of the South Sudan Chamber of Commerce.
Director General Gieth Kon Mathiang presented the FY 2025/26 budget, which emphasize prioritizing resources allocation aimed at boosting infrastructure thus improving service delivery, expanding ICT access, enhancing regulatory capacity, and promoting innovation across the country.
During the meeting, board members received updates on key developments, including the status of the Vivacell case, ongoing stakeholder engagements, and legal proceedings while also reviewing South Sudan’s recent participation in the East African Communications Organization’s (EACO) 1st Advisory Council and 30th Annual Assemblies, where South Sudan assumed the EACO Chairmanship; a major step toward regional ICT integration.
The board reaffirmed NCA’s commitment to building a robust and inclusive digital ecosystem, emphasizing its role in driving national development through technology and innovation.
