The South Sudan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has refuted the rumours about resettling Palestinian nationals in the country.
This comes amid report from international media such Aljazeera that stated “Israel, South Sudan in talks over forced transfer of Palestinians”.
“Israel is in discussions with South Sudan about relocating Palestinians from Gaza to the East African country” according to Associated Press as well.
Due to serious of reports from various trusted media, the public criticise South Sudan government.
In response the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation refuted the report describing it as false and baseless.
In a statement extended to the Media, the Ministry urged the public to termed such report as false.
“The ministry of foreign affairs and international cooperation of the Republic of South Sudan firmly refutes recent media reports claiming that the Government of the republic of South Sudan is engaged in discussion with the state of Israel regarding the resettlement of Palestinian Nationals from Gaza in South Sudan,” the statement partly read.
The statement also noted that the ministry condemned baseless and false act that doesn’t reflect the official position or policy of the Government of the Republic of South Sudan.
It further urged the social media outlets to diligently verify information that comes through official channels.
“Therefore, the Ministry urged all media outlets to exercise due diligence and verify information through official channels before publication,” it added.
Earlier this year, eight men were deported from United States that comprises two people from Myanmar, two from Cuba, and one each from Vietnam, Laos and Mexico.
