One person injured, several cattle raided in Bor County

Authorities of Bor County have reported that one person has been injured and unspecified number of cows raided in separate attack in Baidit Payam of Bor County on Tuesday Night.

According to County Commissioner the person who sustained gunshot wounds was ambushed and shot at in Baidit while coming from Jalle Payam.

Speaking to No. 1 Citizen Daily Newspaper, Hon. James Ghai Makhor, the commissioner of Bor county said unidentified number of cattle were raided in a separate incident at Pagook.

He added the area youth have pursuing the raided cattle but are still at large.

‘’ there are cattle that are said to be missing following the incident, we don’t know their number exactly because everyone claims that his/her cows is missing. Now the gentlemen are pursuing the attackers.’’ he said.

Hon. James stated that the person who sustained injuries is being Hospitalized at Bor Hospital but in a stable condition.

‘’ Well, this guy was coming from jalle and upon reaching somewhere in Pagook, he was unfortunately shot now sustained injuries. So, this is condition. He added.

Mr. Ghai emphasized peaceful co-existence between Jonglei state and Greater Pibor Administration.

Early this month, Jonglei State and Greater Pibor Administration Area held a peace conference that brought about different stakeholders from the two sisterly administrations with the aim to realize lasting peace among local communities in Pibor and Jonglei.

However, issues of cattle raiding, child abduction and revenge killing remain eminent among the local communities.
