8-year-old girl sustains bullet, parent seeks for help

The parent of an 8-year-old girl sustaining a bullet in Gumbo Sherikat is seeking for help from well-wishers, the government and NGOs to extends hands in order to operate the bullet for successful treatment.

The young girl named Regina was shoot in Gumbo Sherikat at Jebel Lemon residential area in July this year, evening time while washing dishes.

In an exclusive interview with No.1 Citizen Newspaper, the mother Monica said her daughter was shot in July by unknown gunman making her to get paralysed.

According to mother Monica, the bullet was not operated ever since the incident happened in July due to lack of 300 USD for operation.

“The hospital charge 300 US Dolars for operation to succeed but we don’t have money, even our living condition is hard we come and stay at home” she said.

“The time my daughter was shot, I was in the kitchen preparing food, she felled down and cry louder that “Mom I’m dying”, I quickly come to her saw her bleeding, I though that may be stone that hard her” she explained.

She underscored the young girl was taken to hospital and was found that it was bullet, adding there was no money by then.

“There is no money for operation we took her back home; her bone is good just bullet still in her body that make her paralysed” she emphasized.

“I didn’t hear the gunshot, my neighbours heard about it”, I’m bagging for help such that my daughter can walk again, the person who did this God will be with him” she stressed.

Meanwhile, the father who is private SSPDF officer, Mr. Lino Abude Kara underscored the daughter was shot during the evening hour.

“My daughter shot in July at 5: 00 PM at home while I was in the bush hustling for what to be eaten. When I came home, got her injured and thought she was stoned by her age mate as minor injury” he enlightened.

Abude revealed when he got her mother treated the wound with salt, he didn’t inform any police sector or media house.

He added that the girl was rushed to Juba teaching hospital after three days of disorders whereby she could not urinate or defecate.

“I took her to Juba teaching hospital for medication, they send us to Mobil for x-ray, they found that she was shot and the bullet still stuck in her body. The bullet felt on her back and we don’t know where it came from because we didn’t hear any gunshot that day” he commented.

 

The neighbour, Paul Tamou said he got worried on how could such a thing happen stating that the incident should not repeat itself again.

“it seem like someone send as message to the ground. We didn’t hear. we wish to help but we can’t do so” he stated.

Sunday Aman said “we are really scared about this fallen bullet from unknown location to injure the innocence child is unbelievable”.

Aman expressed that they were living in fear all those months due to incident regarding gunshot in the area.

she further urged the non-governmental organization who deals n life-saving to intervene and help rescue the young innocent life.

“I’m asking the government or organisation such as South Sudan Red Cross and NGOs to help this family” she said.
