Juba mourns the death of Professor

The University of Bahr el Ghazal mourned the passing on  of Assistant Professor James Ohure Parisio.

According to the information from the family, the 52-year-old lecturer has been battling oesophageal cancer.

Juma Ochira Parisio, a relative, confirmed to the No. 1 Citizen Newspaper on Wednesday.

“The disease that has resulted in his life was oesophageal cancer,” Ochira said.

Ochira narrated that the notable alumnus of the University of Khartoum had gotten oesophageal cancer, which had worsened over the last two months.

He stated that the oesophageal cancer blocked his throat, making it hard to swallow and feed.

“But unfortunately, yesterday at night, the situation got worse. And with the pain, he passed away at 12 AM C.A.T. at night,” Ochira said.

He added that his body will be transported to his matrimonial home in Torit, where his burial ceremony will be on Friday.

The assistant professor was in his early 50s. He is a graduate of the University of Juba in the College of Economics and Political Science.

He did his master’s and PhD at Khartoum University and was a lecturer at the University of Bhar El Ghazal.
