Finance Ministry Disburses October Salaries on Schedule, Reaffirming Timely Payment Pledge

By Lodu William Odiya

The Ministry of Finance and Planning yesterday reaffirmed its commitment to the timely payment of salaries for civil servants and the organized forces, announcing that October 2025 salaries have been successfully disbursed.

In a statement issued by the ministry, officials confirmed the payments were processed in line with recent presidential directives.

“As of today, October 24, 2025, all salaries for spending agencies have been posted to their respective accounts, ready for payment to civil servants, organized forces, and transfers to states and administrative areas,” the statement read.

The ministry highlighted that its successful processing of the October salaries by the 24th day of the month is a direct response to the recent strict directives from His Excellency the President, delivered through the Vice President and Chairman of the Economic Cluster, to consistently pay monthly salaries by this date.

“This pronouncement of successful processing of salaries for the month of October 2025 on this 24th day is a fundamental testament to our unwavering commitment to the aforementioned directives,” the statement continued.

The Ministry of Finance and Planning reassured the leadership, all spending agencies, the media, and the general public of its continued commitment to timely salary payments.

Furthermore, the statement noted that the ministry is also focusing on other key government priorities. These include ensuring the implementation of all fundamental economic reforms to support inclusive economic recovery and service delivery, which are designed to ensure sustained economic growth in the medium-to-long term, as stipulated in the revised National Development Strategy (NDS).

Earlier this year, the Vice President and Chairperson for the Economic Cluster, Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel, first reaffirmed the government’s commitment to consistent and timely payment of salaries for civil servants and organised forces on the 24th day of every month, citing it as crucial for public service delivery.
