Commissioner Issues Warning Against Illegal Land Demarcation in Rajaf Payam

The Commissioner of Juba County, Emmanuel Tete Ezbon, has issued a stern warning regarding illegal land demarcation and the unauthorized sale of plots in Rajaf Payam, Central Equatoria State

In a statement released Thursday by the Commissioner’s Press Unit, officials confirmed that authorities intervened following reports of unlawful land activities allegedly carried out by local youth.

“The four suspects were arrested on Wednesday evening after swift intervention by the Juba County Commissioner, in coordination with the Mayor of Juba City Council, following alerts from local residents. Community members reported ongoing illegal activities involving the demarcation and sale of plots in the area,” the statement read.

The committee urged the residents to halt from the malpractices and enforced the laws against the individuals engaged in malpractices to not take the law in their hands.

According to the statement, Commissioner revealed that some individuals involved in illegal operation, selling the plots at a rate of 2,000,000 SSP in the area that not officially demarcated and operated for transactions.

The committee emphasized that the assailants involved in malpractices carried firearms and used them as threat to intimidate the residents while carrying work their illegal land activities.

The commissioner condemned the lawlessness in strong words and called on the public to refrain from ongoing malpractices in the payam.

“Hon. Tete emphasized that Juba County will not tolerate lawlessness and called on the public to immediately stop engaging in illegal land dealings. He also urged residents to continue cooperating with authorities by reporting any suspicious or unlawful activities related to land,” it added.

The county committee further advised residents to strictly follow legal land acquisition processes to avoid falling victim to scams or legal repercussions
