THE PAYMENT OF CIVIL SERVANT`s  SALARY BECOMES PROBLEM IN SOUTH SUDAN.

     By: Ayuel Mangok Angui

The main role of the ministry of labour is to make sure that the salaries of all the government workers are paid on time in order to maintain them in their workplaces and avoid future irregularities in attending their duties as it is required by the labour law.

Due to poor leadership and mismanagement of public resources by the higher authorities, it has made it difficult for the ministry of labour to act according to the law and the payment of civil servant`s salary becomes problem in south sudan. The government employees spend half of the year without salaries and this has led to the increase in the number of beggars from the government officials who knows, who has stolen much money among them in order to share it with him/her.

According to the constitution of south sudan, salaries are the first priority and considered important to be paid to each and every one working with the government, but that policy is not implemented by the government although it is documented as an important article to be effected in the constitution of the country.

Therefore, all the civil servants in the republic of south sudan are continuing facing economic hardship and the government doesn’t care when to pay and when to address the longstanding problem, which has been confronting the country for years, and instead the government warns and keeps on threatening its employees that it will shoot them if they are tempted to go for the peaceful demonstration as a mean of expressing their grievances for the better change.

As a truth to tell for the sake of the nation, I am writing to inform the government of south sudan in this article that payment of civil servant`s salary is very important in strengthening the policy of the party and making it attractive so that the citizens may vote for it in the coming election and any failure to do so may result to the collapse of the party and the government as a whole.
