The Central Equatoria State Security Committee (CES-SC) has reaffirmed its commitment to heightening vigilance across Central Equatoria.
In a statement that was released by the state Press unit, the move is to bolster urban safety in the state.
“Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony who chaired the meeting directed the Juba City Council and the National Civil Defense Service to ensure a swift response to any fire outbreaks within the capital” the statement partly read.
This follows directives for the City Council to continue reorganizing markets and public spaces to prevent such disasters.
The state government further addressed reports of border encroachment in Kajo-Keji County, maintaining that the territorial issues in a strongest term possible on the recent abductions of some civilians by anti-peace elements and later were released in Yei River County.
In Yei, security organs have been ordered to launch a crackdown on criminal gangs locally referred to as “niggas” to restore law and order.
Additionally, the state leadership directed army commanders to reinforce the Presidential orders on return of cattle to their places of origin to mitigate communal tensions as farming seasons is approaching.
“The directive further gives army commanders within the State to fine any cattle camp that fails to adhere to the directive with five cattle.
On the other hand, the Security Committee has delegated the State Security Advisor Angelo Daya to lead a peace conference between Juba and Mundri.
The conference will focus specifically on cattle-related migration and fostering long-term peace between the neighboring communities.
The state government emphasized that these measures are effective immediately to ensure the safety of all citizens.
