By Louis Loku

Two civilians were killed, and several others were injured following an attack on a cattle camp in Dolo Payam, according to the state government.

In a press release issued on Friday, the Central Equatoria State Ministry of Information and Communication said the incident occurred in the early hours of 21 May 2026 in Sirimon Boma.

The government alleged that the attackers were elements of SPLA-IO holdout groups and said the assault targeted a civilian cattle camp.

According to the statement, two people were killed during the attack, while several others sustained minor injuries and are currently receiving medical treatment.

The state government condemned the incident, describing it as an attack against civilians. Authorities said security agencies have been placed on high alert, with operations underway to pursue those responsible and restore calm in the area.

Officials also appealed to residents to remain calm as security measures continue to enable citizens to resume normal activities in Dolo Payam and surrounding areas.

The government reiterated its commitment to maintaining security, law, and order across Central Equatoria State and expressed condolences to the families of those killed in the incident.

Efforts to reach the SPLM-IO for comment were unsuccessful by the time of publication.
