Six people hurt in Gangs raid

Authority in Bor county of Jonglei state have confirmed that at least six people were injured during night gangs attack over the weekend

When contacted by this outlet, James Ghai Makor, Bor County commissioner said the incident happened but the injuries were minor.

“This are criminals, they just used panga and attacked the people and cut six of them but their injuries are minor” he said.

On September, 3 this year, two young men suspected of being members of an armed gang that allegedly stabbed an 18-year-old woman during a robbery in the town of Bor were arrested, according to local officials.

According to Commissioner Makor, the acting governor have mobilized and directed the police to arrest any suspected gang in order to calm the situation.

“It was a directive of the acting governor and mobilized the police so that they can move around and identify gangs who are moving at night” he emphasized.

On October 2021, the authorities in Jonglei State capital Bor also arrested at least 28 suspected gangsters for causing havoc at some part of the town.

Ghai underscored there was no suspect arrested but they had been identified as the gangs who always caused trouble within the town.

He further stressed that the general situation in Bor, the capital of Jonglei state was normal despite incident that happened last week.

“The general situation in Bor town is normal, we just tell them that the police are the one to cease the criminals at night. People who are moving with pangas they can just arrest them” he highlighted.
