The Government of Central Equatoria State (CES) has expressed deep sorrow and mourning following a tragic plane crash that claimed the lives of 15 people in Luri.
In his message of condolence extended to the media, CES governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony described the incident as a devastating loss not only to the families but to the whole country.
“This tragedy deeply affects not only the immediate families of the deceased, but also the entire communities of Central Equatoria and the nation at large,” the statement partly read.
He extended his heartfelt sympathies to all families affected by the tragedy and prayed for strength and comfort during this painful time.
“This is a heartbreaking moment for all of us in Central Equatoria State. We stand in solidarity with the families who have lost their loved ones and share in their grief. May the souls of the deceased rest in eternal peace,” Adil said.
The governor further confirmed that relevant authorities, including the South Sudan Civil Aviation Authority (SSCAA), have launched immediate investigations to establish the cause of the crash.
“On behalf of the People and the State Government, I profoundly extend my deepest condolences to the bereaved families who have lost their beloved ones as the SSCAA undertakes thorough and swift investigations to establish the real cause of the crash,” he said
He assured the public that the government will follow up closely on the findings and ensure that all necessary measures are taken to prevent similar incidents in the future.
The governor urged citizens to remain calm as investigations continue, citing the state’s commitment to supporting the affected families during this difficult period.
