I have seen, you are so frustrated about life, thinking everything is just against you. You have given up on everything.
Your last option is anything that can take your life. You conclude suicide will solve your problems. You put your blames on witches. You think you are bewitched. It is the reason you have lost everything. You are hated by almost everybody. For any crime committed, your name is the first to be mentioned. When things are stolen, they say it is you who steals them. You are sick, from time to time. You cannot even have an hour of night sleep. Your nights are filled with worries.
To you, there is no any other solution to your situation than death, but look at the birds of the air!
They don’t have bank accounts but you have. Your complaint is just that your pay is not enough but you honestly have a bank account. The birds do not have food storage anywhere. They continue to live normal. They have no food hidden somewhere but they continue to live normal. They have numberless reasons to complaint about what to eat the next day, but they choose not to. They decide to leave it for tomorrow. For you have food storage. You know where you will eat, the next day. If you won’t have food in your house, you know you will run to your neighbours. Birds don’t have neighbours to run. Every bird is just independent of herself.
Birds have no land to cultivate. You have a vase land to cultivate. Your problem is fear. You fear that you will be attacked when you go cultivating your land because your country is at war within itself. You fear that your crops may not produce well. You fear that strangers may harvest your crops. You fear that animals in the forest may eat your crops. You fear that you may die before you harvest your crops. You can just fight your fears and be normal.
Birds normally become sick and see no doctor. The sicknesses in the world today don’t leave any creature out. They go to humans, birds and animals alike. It is unfortunate that birds and animals have no doctors. It is so pleasing that though they have no doctors, they continue to exist amidst dangerous sicknesses and diseases.
What about you! You have doctors of different categories. You have surgeons. You have neurosurgeons, you have nurses, name them. You have medical facilities enough. You have medicines enough. You have scientists discovering medicines enough. You can seek medical attention any time you need it. But you cannot sleep worrying about sickness. You don’t know when you will be sick but you worry. It may not come. You don’t know what kind of sickness that might come to you, but you just conclude it will be the dangerous one.
Birds are healthier than human beings though they don’t have doctors. They don’t go to school to learn about health but they learn from the nature. They know how to avoid sickness. They keep the natural law of health. Birds don’t move at night. They know it is time to rest. Human beings move at night. They work during the day and they work during the night. They still complain when they become sick. Birds know what to eat to live healthy. It is the reason every bird feeds on plants. Plant diet is the best diet for a healthy life. Many birds don’t go for meat though they have many opportunities to eat meat. They know what foods are good for their health. Humans eat anything they find. Some even eat snakes. Birds are the best doctors.
Birds don’t sleep in modern houses. But you live in a modern house! Your house is permanent. Your house is well ventilated. Your house is painted. Your house has glass windows. You are protected from dangerous storms. But look at the birds’ nests. They are flown away by any storms. But they worry not. You are protected from dangerous people at night. Birds are not. Snakes come and eat them with their little ones. But they don’t commit suicide. You have police to call for when robbers come to your home. Birds are not policed. They only have hope that no danger will come to them. Birds can better worry than you.
Birds don’t have governments. They have no constitution to guide them. But their unity is worth anything. You have your government. You have constitution. You continue to fight but you have a government. You continue to commit crimes but you have government. Government is meant to provide a system that will accommodate everything. With the government, the country develops. With the government, the citizens are educated. With the government, the resources are distributed equally to the citizens. With the government too, the rule of law is uplifted. Birds don’t have any government, but they live together in peace and unity. Two birds fight but you see them walking together again. Humans fight but they hardly walk together again.
Birds don’t have any religion! But you are a religious person. You go to pray from time to time. Religion teaches people not to worry about life. If I can quote from the Christians’ Bible in Mathew 11:28-29, they are promised rest by God. God understands His people face challenges in life but He only asks them to trust Him. He is willing to give them everything they ask. The Holy Bible is filled with many promises. If they claim them, God is ready to grant them all the promises. With all the promises from God, humans continue to live frustrated and miserable.
But birds with no religion live with hope. They don’t worry about tomorrow. They are not problem to each other. They don’t kill other birds like them. They don’t segregate other birds like them. They don’t steal their property but have no commandment that says “Don’t steal.” They don’t eliminate other birds which are the minority. No evil lives in them but they have no commandment at all.
People say birds don’t have sense. They avoid danger. They care for their young ones. They accept one another. They love their lives. They feel pity of each other. They make their own nests. They look for food. They don’t depend on other birds for food. Every bird is independent. They know the sun is hot, they go under the shade. They know the rain is coming, they get to their nests. When one bird is sick, she takes rest. Birds have sense instead.
Birds mark every season. When it is dry season, they move to where they can get water and food. During any dry season, birds stay along the water bodies. But the time the dry season is over, they move back to their usual places. They have no calendar to guide them. But they know every season. They have no watch to guide them about time, but they know the morning has come. Look at the birds.
Birds don’t speak human language. But they communicate more perfectly well. They comprehend every message. They produce sounds that are so meaningful to them. They don’t have tongues to sweet-talk but they flock together every moment. You have human tongue. You can ask and be given. You can speak to your neighbour to give you food. You can speak to your uncles to come for your help. You can speak to your friends to assist you. You can speak to an employer to employ you. You can sweet-talk and you get what you want. You pray to God; birds don’t pray to God. You have no reason to complain than birds.
You complain that you have lost your loved ones and that will make you live depressed. But how many birds die each day? I tell you so many of them! People kill them for food. People kill them for business. People also kill them without any reason. Animals feed on them. Other birds feed on them too! Have you seen them spending money on funerals? Don’t you know they also feel the pain of losing their loved ones? They just accept the challenge and life goes on normal. They just leave everything to God. They mourn but they don’t mourn hopelessly. They hope that death will not be there one day. They hope that the creator will erase evil one time. Losing your loved one (s) should not be your reason of committing suicide. Birds don’t commit suicide.
I believe you have understood that you have no reason to become frustrated if bird can’t become frustrated amidst many challenges. You have no reason to give up on life when birds can’t give up on life when they have no religion to keep them strong. You can decide to live happy. You can decide to live a positive life. You can fight all your frustrations. You have the ability to make everything new in your life. You can have a new beginning right now!
